Recipe: Colorful Cassava Cenil

Cenil is a traditional snack with a sweet taste and a chewy texture. Cenil is generally made from starch. But there are also cenil made from grated cassava, or called sentiling. This one cenil has a softer texture than starchy cenil because the ingredients are cassava.

Ingredients:

  • 500 grams of cassava
  • 1 bks agar plain
  • 80 grams of sugar
  • 150 ml coconut milk
  • Food blush
  • Grated coconut
  • Salt to taste

Making Method:

  • Grate cassava with grated coconut. Set aside.
  • Add coconut milk, sugar and agar-agar. Mix well and taste test.
  • Divide the dough into several parts and give each one.
  • The shape of the dough is suitable in the form of a round or dice.
  • Steam the dough for 30 minutes.
  • Steam also coconut and a little salt for 10 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  • When the cenil is ripe, sprinkle with grated coconut.
  • Serve straight or skewer on skewers.
